“Who would have thought that a funny-shaped pinto hony of questionable breeding could make it from the kill pen of Pennsylvania's New Holland auction to winning ribbons at SoCal horse shows? Lucky Day was an overweight pasture puff who taught occasional beginner lessons but was pretty green over fences, hadn't schooled dressage, and had never been to a horse show. Meanwhile, I was a former hunter/eq rider who had been out of the saddle for the better part of two decades! Within five months of Lauren's outstanding training, Lucky and I have shaken off the rust, gotten fit, and are now LOVING eventing and showing the jumpers!

Lauren is extremely effective in training adult ammys, green horses, and various combinations thereof :). At the same time, her barn is also a haven for pleasure riders to enjoy the beautiful trails and great barn amenities. “Urban Eventing is more than just a training/riding facility, it is a community of horse lovers and sporting enthusiasts. Pretty much every owner/rider comes everyday to visit, ride and give love to their horses. And, the facility is phenomenal. Located on an avocado farm in Santa Barbara foothills with miles of trails that offer views of mountains and ocean. Lauren Urban, owner, is an exceptional trainer. She is patient, kind and a talented horse professional. Both Jagar, my 18yo OTTB, and I have grown and progressed beyond my imagination during the 2+ years we’ve been working with her. Jagar was supposed to be retired 1.5 years ago. But, with Lauren’s care and training, he has never performed better. He loves his strengthening and suppling dressage lessons with Lauren, his jumping is phenomenal, trail rides keep his mind healthy and we’ve even done some cross country schooling which I NEVER thought i’d do.

My life would not be as rich and full were it not for Urban Eventing, Lauren Urban and the whole family/community.
